AUDITIONS FOR NEWSIES are January 21-25, 2026​

WHO AUDITIONS?  Intermediate with production students, Orange Monarch Conservatory, Blue Monarch Conservatory

(Beginners will be cast without an audition)

WHAT SHOULD I PREPARE?

Prepare for Auditions - 1st Call
Please sing a 1-minute portion of a musical theatre or pop song from a track that you play on
your phone. Please be memorized if possible. Students who do not wish to be considered for
vocal solos do not have to sing individually and should plan to attend the choreo and acting portions only.
Your audition song can be in the style of Newsies, or something that demonstrates your best vocal range, your personality, and a character you can portray well.​

Callbacks

We often call ALL students back in order to see them read again.  We may also ask certain students to sing from the show at callbacks, but in that case, the music will be taught at auditions.

PLEASE BLOCK OF THE AUDITION DATES IN YOUR CALENDAR AND AVOID CONFLICTS WHEN POSSIBLE.  STUDENTS WILL BE SEEN 2-3 TIMES DURING THESE DATES.

Students will be required to list rehearsal conflicts on your audition form at auditions.  Casting will not be released until a thorough study of each cast member's conflicts is achieved.
